Legal Care Center Academy of Whatcom County
Whatcom County's premier Legal Care Center is excited to announce the launch of the county's only Legal Care Center Academy that offers a combined comprehensive certificate program.
Upon completion of the 10-week course, successful students will receive a certificate of completion displaying the subjects learned as well as graduation announcements that will be sent out to all local attorneys detailing the skills of the new entries into the legal work force.
Our students gain a competitive edge when entering the work force through their required lab time in an actual law firm. The one-on-one lab time is invaluable since most recent graduates of paralegal courses are passed over for employment opportunities for lack of experience. Graduates who can display working knowledge in all of the subjects will not only increase the likelihood of gainful employment after graduation, but will increase their estimated starting pay from $12-$15 per hour to $18 per hour. This will increase a student’s annual income by $5,760-$11,520 within the first year.

DUI, Infraction, and Auto Specialization With the increasing number of DUI’s and infractions being disputed and taken to court, a substantive knowledge in this field will help gain paralegals employment with growing and successful firms specializing in these kinds of cases. Many attorneys are not willing to hire an inexperienced graduate as anything more than an intern. However, these same attorneys are willing to pay top-dollar for experienced paralegals who understand their field of specialization in depth. This program also addresses personal injury cases and skills for dealing with client responses and opposing parties. |
